​The human figure is a constant universal for artists. I’m obsessive about life drawing, as an artist, teacher and researcher. 

Drawing throws up stuff. Sometimes I don't know what it is about until after the work is done.
 
On reflection, my figure drawings in the Drawing Dialogue Project unpack recent social observations: isolation, no eye contact, humans preferring to engage with technology rather than other people in their presence and a reaction to news stories about refugees in Europe.
